What began as a journal to document the beauty in my immediate surroundings has become something else entirely. ‘Observing’ explores continual shifts of being – both of my own conscious and the environment I inhabit. It is an exploration of feeling.
The conscious mind can differ so much depending on everyday moments, so it is difficult for a still photograph to portray the visceral. Through performance and photochemical processes, the work articulates the chaos of everyday life.
I would like people to open their eyes and see the world as I see it – the transience of the everyday and the everyone. Unlike anything you’ve ever seen before but oh so familiar.
All prints are made by hand in the darkroom. They are printed using classic fibre based paper.
